Philippine startups face a lot of challenges – restrictive government regulations and Asia’s second slowest internet being just two of those – and it was only in the last few years that tech innovation has begun to take root in the country’s business landscape. And while the country has a long way to go in developing an actual startup ecosystem, investors has begun to take notice.

We went on one of our regular crawls through the e27 database to check out what’s happening with Philippine startups. Here’s 6 that has been funded beginning January 2016.

 

1. Revolution Precrafted | US$15.4M

An online platform connecting real estate buyers and developers to over 30 illustrious architects, artists, and designers to create an exclusive series of prefabricated livable spaces. Funded by 500 Startups

 

2. Coins | US$5M

Bitcoin exchange platform in the Philippines. Also caters to the over 70% of the unbanked adults in the country by partnering with payment centers and convenience stores. Funded by Accion Frontier Inclusion Fund and Quona Capital.

3. FlySpaces | US$500K

An online search and booking engine for short-term offices, event spaces, and pop-up retails stores. Operationally headquartered in the Philippines and has aggressively expanded throughout Southeast Asia. Funded by COENT Venture Partners and Future Now Ventures.

 

4. BetterHapp | US$25K

An online wedding planning tool connecting users with a network of event professionals and also functions as a management  and collaboration tool. Funded by 1337 Ventures

 

5. Bustayo | US$25K

A web platform providing bus booking services for going to and from the city. Currently operating in the Philippines, the service base reservations on user’s mobile number. Funded by 1337 Ventures.

6. Detivo | US$25K

Point of sale platform for restaurants that includes automated marketing campaigns, generation of real time reports, and online and offline access. Funded by 1337 Ventures.
