Kuala Lumpur-based SE Good Product Sdn. Bhd. has launched Good Hijab, an online shopping platform for Muslim women (Muslimah). It sells lifestyle brands and products and is driven by a social mission to provide support for underprivileged youth in Malaysia.

Good Hijab brings together local hijab brands, Muslimah lifestyle merchandises and consumers who share the same mission to help underprivileged youth, on a single platform of its shopping website.

Starting today, consumers can browse and purchase Muslimah attire and other products through the website to support the social mission.

Profit from sales goes to fund Good Hijab social impact activities to empower underprivileged youth with new skills and other support. A social enterprise, Good Hijab has recently rebranded from Hijab for Good to better reflect its social mission.

Currently, Good Hijab offers three options to consumers who want to shop for the cause: Shop, Flash Sale, and Good Box.

Under the option ‘Shop’, consumers browse through selections of Muslimah hijabs offered by eight Malaysian brands. ‘Flash Sale’ uses a bidding concept where consumers bid for a hijab product and get 20 per cent discount for their purchase (each bidding process lasts for two days), while ‘Good Box’ is a three-month subscription box.

Many underprivileged youth in Malaysia including those living in shelter homes lack skills which makes it very difficult for them to find a job, start a business or survive the challenging world. Without a proper support system, they could become jobless or even homeless for not being able to earn an income.

Realising this, Good Hijab has decided to help by providing these youth support through education. “We are excited about the launch of Good Hijab. We offer consumers who care, an online venue where they can shop for products from vendors who also care to provide support for underprivileged youth. We are grateful for the positive response from the local brand owners who sell their products on our platform and all our partners who join us on this important mission to help underprivileged youth,” said Radziah Mohd Radzi, Co-founder and Chief Executive Giver of Good Hijab, in a press statement.

“By taking an active role in teaching these underprivileged youth on how to become an entrepreneur, a hair dresser, a baker, a tailor or equip them with other useful skills, we could make a positive impact in their future,” she added.

Founded in 2015, Good Hijab was a participant in MaGIC‘s Social Enterprise Accelerator Programme Cohort 1, and received RM30,000 (US$7,364) seed funding from MaGIC and an angel investor.
