From digital mobile wallets and equity crowdfunding platforms, to robo-advisors for wealth and retirement planning, the financial technology industry is growing rapidly. The growth and demand for fintech services has resulted in exciting new companies being built, looking to seize the opportunity in the financial services business.

To better understand and make sense of the sea of information fintech has to offer, we turn our heads to these four thought leaders; Vidit Agrawal (UBER), Rahmat Broto Triaji (Bank Mandiri), Samuel Hall (StartupBootCamp Fintech), and Dondi Hananto (Kinara Indonesia); each having their own angle of expertise to offer, eager to contribute to the startup and fintech ecosystem.

1. Vidit Agrawal, Strategic Vehicle Partnerships APAC, Uber

Vidit Agrawal holds the distinction of being Uber’s first employee in Asia. Currently, he is in charge of spearheading the vehicle partnerships of Uber in the region, and is responsible for the growth of the business.

Workshop: In his workshop, you’ll receive an overview of the business development cycle, from outreach to developing and formalizing partnerships. Learn how to build and manage a business development pipeline, establish what makes a good business development rep and team, and gain an understanding of how business development in technology is different from other industries.

 

2. Rahmat Broto Triaji, SVP of Digital Banking and Financial Inclusion of Bank Mandiri

Rahmat held various positions in Bank Exim, before moving over to Bank Mandiri in 1999. Since then, he has served as a Product Manager, Vice President, and Group Head in e-banking before assuming his current role.

Workshop: In his workshop, Rahmat goes through with you, his experience with fintech startups in Indonesia. He will share what Bank Mandiri and Mandiri Capital Indonesia are looking for in terms of financial technology and will share his own thoughts about the future of fintech in Indonesia, and how banks play a role in providing benefits for fintech startups.

 

3. Samuel Hall – Program Director, Startupbootcamp FinTech Singapore

Samuel is a mentor and advisor to early and growth stage startups, focusing in particular on business model validation, product development and go-to-market strategy.

Workshop: In his workshop, you will get a general understanding of the entire Southeast Asia fintech ecosystem, from established key players to the various definitions of the umbrella term: fintech. Gain lessons and key insights from Startupbootcamp’s experiences working with banks.

 

4. Dondi Hananto, Early Stage VC, Kinara Indonesia

With more than a decade of experience in the fintech industry, Dondi is a banker turned investor. He has founded various startups in Indonesia and is actively taking part in building the Indonesian entrepreneurship ecosystem, investing in early-stage, scalable companies.

Workshop: In his workshop, Dondi will provide you with a venture capitalist/investor’s point of view on the fintech industry and share with you methods on pitching your fintech startups to get VCs and investor’s attention.
