We are ramping up for Echelon Asia this June 28-29, take a look as we prepare for Asia’s best tech conference
We are getting stoked for the end of the month! Echelon Asia is set to hit Singapore on June 28-29 and the office is abuzz with preparations, silliness and (yes) some problem solving.
So what goes into these tech events? They don’t just grow out of the ground. Let’s take a look behind the scenes as we get ready to host Asia’s startup scene in Singapore.
Let’s start with our fearless leader. While Mohan is busy running the company, we turn to Thaddeus for all-things Echelon.
2016 attendees might remember the extraordinarily-popular punching machine. This was the man behind it.
Everyone, say hello to Norman.
“Hello Norman!”
Norman is working on outreach and selling those tickets. If you’re coming to Echelon, chances are you probably have received an email from Norman.
This bundle of smiles is Jiaway. She ran Echelon Malaysia in Penang (resounding success) and is head of logistics and operations for our Asia Summit.
While it’s a rare occasion to see her wearing colors (all black err’day), the picture above encapsulates what she brings to the team.
Hui Ming is our Deputy Projects Director and the top-Kopi consumer at e27 (Kopi C Siew Dai ← she made me write this for publishing approval )
She is head of our marketing and in charge of getting the word out about all-things Echelon.
Yee Feng is our Accounts Servicing professional and is answering all your queries about Echelon.
Working towards the event, it’s one of the most important jobs for the company as startups, investors and the general public have tons of questions about Echelon.
Problem solving is just part of the job. Here, Zwee, our Head of Product, and Yon, a Senior Writer, are navigating some issues and working towards a solution.
While in the moment it can be stressful, this is the part of the job that makes coming to work interesting.
Meet the most popular person in the company. Our coffee maker (who does not identify with backwards notions of gender binaries). It is working harder than anyone in the company and constantly producing quality work.
But, not only is it a necessity, a few of us in the company are genuine coffee-enthusiasts, and a common water-cooler-topic is discussing the merits of Indonesian coffee vs. Vietnamese coffee vs. Thai coffee.
Our hours have gotten longer and the pressure gets more intense as June 28 draws near. Every now and then, we need to take a break, celebrate some wins and enjoy a glass of wine.
These two (Amin on left, Jowynne on right) took a break from writing a proposal to pose for this photo. This dynamic-duo is constantly taking calls, running off to meetings and helping e27 continue to grow the ecosystem.
Believe it or not, despite the busy schedule, Jowynne they are great about taking the newbies out to lunch and making sure everyone feels like a part of the team.
Take a peek inside the war room as we discuss Echelon. While there are lots of smiles in the pictures above, when it comes down to business, we turn on Beast Mode.
The most important past-time at e27 is annoying the Big Boss, our CEO Mohan. We think he likes us, but we will accept ‘tolerates’.
A team that eats together stays together. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the team has lunch together. This helps people break out of their ‘job’ and meet everyone in the company.
When you do this every day for years, even the most introverted of people will eventually get to know their colleagues.
Every day Mohan takes us to the Marina Bay Sands for an evening swim. We also enjoy unlimited food and VIP service.
Kidding. But while you’re here, enjoy everything Singapore has to offer!! Why not right?
So there you have it. A behind the scenes look at Echelon. We can’t wait to host you. If you haven’t bought tickets yet, what are you waiting for!? Here is the registration page.
