Outpost hosts a series of entrepreneurial classes — and some less serious events, like learning Parkour
It isn’t hard to see why Bali is among the world’s top travel destinations. Tourists from all over the world visit the famed Indonesian island to experience its culture and take in its natural beauty. From idyllic beaches to picturesque rivers, lush rice fields to majestic mountains, serene luxury wellness retreats in Ubud to colorful nightlife in Kuta, the island truly has it all.
The tropical paradise is not only a great holiday destination, but also an ideal place for foreigners to live and work, especially for Southeast Asian entrepreneurs and digital nomads who are looking for a change of scenery.
While vacationing in Bali this year, a friend who recently moved to the island had recommend that I visit Outpost, a relatively new co-working space nestled within the charming eco-friendly village of Nyuh Kuning in Ubud.
For anyone planning an working vacation in Bali this year, here’s my take on why Outpost should be on the top of any list:
An Expansive Office Space with Stunning Views
Imagine drafting a proposal or preparing for a presentation while you’re surrounded by luxuriant jungle vegetation. Outpost spawns over 600 square meters, with both indoor and outdoor space for you to choose from as you please.
Besides the air-conditioned common spaces, Outpost also provides sound-proof call booths, private offices and meeting rooms, all equipped with robust internet from four internet providers.
Upstairs, the second floor opens to two spacious collaborative spaces with a jungle view where you can be social and network with the co-working space’s vibrant community. All Outpost members have 24/7 access.
Strategic Location for Sightseeing
When in Bali, there is no way anyone can resist visiting its cultural sites and other tourist attractions. Located only 5 minutes away from the center of Ubud — where all the boutiques and restaurants are concentrated — Outpost is within walking distance to Ubud’s Sacred Monkey Forest.
While there, don’t miss the temples, art museums, artisan villages, rice fields, and local culinary gems.
Take Part in Their Entrepreneurship Training Program and Events
Outpost’s CREW program is a 4-week-long co-working empowerment group and masterclass. It includes active think tank sessions, top-notch workshops, collaborative sessions, and counseling. Outpost also organizes exciting events parties and how-to workshops that cover anything from starting a business to Parkour (yes, Parkour), and seminars by industry leaders.
They’ve even invited award-winning authors, corporate leaders, BBC presenters, startup founders and other top talents as guest speakers.
Take Advantage of the Extra Amenities Provided
If none of the things I mentioned above impressed at all, the establishment’s additional amenities and services surely will.
Keeping all guests’ comfort and relaxation in mind, Outpost has made available a professional in-house masseuse. They have also partnered with Bali Spirit Hotel & Spa to provide Outpost members access to swimming pools overlooking the jungle.

With the wide array of restaurants in Ubud, residents never worry about food. But if you’re in need to coffee or small bites on the spot, there’s always Outpost’s on-site café and free coffee and tea, as well as a full kitchen for you to prepare your own meals.
There are even shower rooms if you need a good clean.
Also, if you’re struggling to find accommodation on your working vacation, Outpost has co-living spaces too. Their 3-bedroom villas are complete with jungle views, swimming pools, outdoor baths, and even a personal chef.
Outpost Cares About Making a Difference in the Local Community
I think the main reason why Outpost left a lasting impression on me is its commitment to make a positive impact in Bali.

They offer local non-profits free space and have teamed up with Trash Hero to organize a weekly trash cleanup in Ubud. Through partnerships with non-profit organizations, Outpost gives a chance for entrepreneurs and digital nomads, even those who are only there temporarily, to give back to the island.
