One of these Vietnam-grown healthtech startups are focussing in the field of mental health

When it comes to the healthtech sector, Singapore continues to dominate the sector in the Southeast Asian region.

A quick search into the e27 startup database reveals that there are at least 250 healthtech startups operating in the country. When it comes to funding, some of these companies had even raised more than US$10 million.

Similarly, Indonesia has also seen growing interest in healthtech investment in the country, with startups such as HaloDoc raising fundings from the likes of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

When it comes to the figures, the healthtech sector in Vietnam may still be far behind Singapore or Indonesia. But we have discovered several promising startups working in the sector.

thuocsi.vn
Funding: US$500,000 in seed funding (January 2019)

Launched in 2018, thuocsi.vn is an online marketplace for healthcare products. As a B2B marketplace, it connects pharmacists to licensed distributors and provides end-to-end service delivery.

ViCare
Funding: Undisclosed seed funding round (July 2016)
Investor(s): CyberAgent Ventures, Pix Vine Capital

Vicare is a healthcare listing and discovery platform that provide an updated list of medical establishments and doctors. It also provides a feature to help patients book for examinations.

The platform enables patients to book for various medical services at home, from medical examination, home infusion, wound care, as well as blood and urine tests.

While the other healthtech startups focusses on health in general, Mosia puts greater attention mental health and life coaching. Its platform enables users to consult with psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, life coaches, and career guides through chat or video calls.
