The technology uses mirrors so women can see what the makeup looks like, then they can go to vending machine and make an order

This is pretty neat. Alibaba has signed a deal with InTime shopping malls in China to roll out an augmented reality mirror to facilitate commerce from the women’s restroom.

Rolling out in two malls Hangzhou City, the technology is a smart mirror that partners with a nifty vending machine to purchase makeup.

Basically, women can try on all sorts of beauty products and colours just by using the smart mirror. The mirror adjusts the makeup to their face so the potential customers can see how a particular brand/shade fits.

When they find something they like, they go to a vending machine using a smartphone and QR-code technology. Right now, the machine has ten brands, notably Shu Uemera, Lancome, Elizabeth Arden and Benefit.
