The first XPRIZE was won by Mojave Aerospace Ventures on October 4, 2004, with their spacecraft SpaceShipOne. SpaceShipOne completed the first manned private spaceflight and broke the 41-year-old altitude record for an airplane. This led to Mojave Aerospace Ventures agreeing on a joint venture with Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic.
“I am extremely humbled to be invited to join the XPRIZE Innovation Board. I am hugely passionate about using innovation to solve large problems, and believe it’s the perfect element to facilitate change. I look forward to being a part of this amazing organisation and having the opportunity to play a part in solving a grand challenge,” said Patrick in a press statement.
Established in 2004 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Catcha Group holds over 60 investments, either directly or indirectly, as sole, majority or minority shareholders.
