Appier also hired the former Chief Data Scientist of Coupang, a Korean e-commerce company

Appier, a company that is bringing artificial intelligence to cross-screen marketing, announced today it has hired two key executives to help the company build more AI products for enterprises.

Junde Yu has come on-board as the next Chief Business Officer and Dr. Charles Ng was hired in the role of Vice President of Enterprise Artificial Intelligence.

Yu was previously the Asia Pacific Managing Director for App Annie, the application market research and data company. He was the company’s first salesperson in Asia and was a key cog in growing the company’s business in this region.

His job will be to take charge of the Appier enterprise products — such as an AI-based data intelligence platform called Aixon.

Dr. Charles Ng will lead a team of Data Scientists and Engineers to develop new enterprise products.

Before joining Appier, Dr. Ng was the Chief Data Scientist for Coupang — a Korean e-commerce company that generates 80 per cent of its traffic and 75 per cent of sales via mobile. Dr. Ng has 15 years of experience in data science, including a stint at IBM.

“We’re delighted to be bringing on board two talented and experienced leaders to help fuel Appier’s growth. Both have strong experience of scaling startup companies to world leading companies,” said Chih-han Yu, the Chief Executive Officer of Appier in a statement.

“They both also have extensive experiences in enterprise software and data intelligence and R&D. It will propel our development of AI-based platforms that enterprises require,” he said.

In August,Appier raises a US$33 million Series C to bring its total amount raised to US$82 million.
