Indonesian startup Bridestory, who has always been known as an online marketplace for wedding needs, launched a new product called Parentstory.

Parentstory is designed to help parents access a variety of kids activities. Implementing a membership system, with the platform, parents no longer need to switch to other apps to book, pay, confirm, and even print a receipt for the activities.

Bridestory’s new product can be considered unique as it has nothing to do with weddings. The company explained that the app is being launched as a form of continuity to the next stage of a couple’s life following their marriage: Parenting. Especially since parents are encouraged to find quality activities to support their children’s growth.

“Kids aged zero- to six-year-old (Golden Years) need quality activities on a daily basis, which has become its own unique challenges for parents in big cities such as Jakarta. We believe that we can be an answer to this problem, by providing access to a wide range of activities for kids. From sensory and motor activities, sports, arts and crafts, to playgrounds,” explained Parentstory Director Garth Parlimbangan.

In its debut, Parentstory has already worked with more than 30 experienced partners in the kids activities industry. The app also includes a filter that helps parents to search for activities based on age, location, category, and time.

“Parentstory is working with many third-party kids activity providers such as Ganara Art, Buumi Playscape, Kidzooona, Lil’ Hoopsters, and Funletics. Our focus is to acquire more partners so that we can provide more choices for parents and children,” Parlimbangan said.

The director also said that in the future, Parentstory will be a separate entity from Bridestory. But the two entities aim to ensure integration and connectivity between the two platforms, which also include the use of Bridestory Pay.

The Parentstory app is now available for mobile and desktop site, as well as iOS devices, with Android devices coming soon.

“The Parentstory business model is being divided into two directions, for the parents and the partners. For the parents, we implement a monthly membership system … parents no longer need to compare prices with this system, they only have to exchange the credits for activities on Parentstory. As for the partners, the business model is in the form of revenue-sharing. Every month Parentstory will give partners discounts based on the number of visits that they can attract within the month,” Parlimbangan added.

Prior to the launch of Parentstory, there was Kiddo which offers a similar service.
