#TogetherforMarawi wants to bring the tech community together and support the nearly 400,000 Filipinos affected by the Marawi terrorist insurgency

In the Southern Philippines, over 500 people have been killed and around 400,000 people displaced as the Philippines military works to extricate an ISIS-related tracked here.

“The humanitarian crisis in Marawi continues to grow worse every day and we realized that we cannot simply stand by while this happening,” said Ron Hose, CEO of Coins.ph, in a statement.

As of publishing, #TogetherforMarawi has raised over PHP100,000 (US$2,000) and is targeting a goal of PHP250,000 (US$5,000). The campaign also accepts bitcoin and the address is: 38kc2KzMjF4ePuNqXohBus42nQvtC67LSd .

After the campaign, the money will be given to the Philippine Red Cross and Save the Children to buy food, water and sanitary supplies for the Marawi refugees.

“Marawi hits close to home for Kalibrr as we have a team member from there, and we are glad to partner with Coins.ph to enable those with the ability to help those in need,” said the CEO of Kalibrr Paul Rivera in a statement.
