Ride-hailing and e-payment unicorn gojek has appointed ex-NASA engineer George Do as Chief Information Security Officer.

Based in Singapore, Do will oversee Gojek’s cyber-security, including that of its portfolio of apps, products and services. Bringing 20 years of experience in the information security industry,

Do will also manage the company’s strategy for governance, risk, and security compliance.

Prior to joining gojek, Do’s portfolio includes a Nasdaq-listed real estate investment trust Equinix, where he worked for more than a decade and was accountable for the security of all of the company’s products and services, as well as that of the enterprise. He also developed and led Equinix’s first Global Information Security Programme to manage security risks across the global organisation.

“I’m excited to join the gojek family. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to transform, scale, and future-proof gojek’s global information security programme. Key to that is building and maintaining security trust with all of our stakeholders, and managing our cyber-security risks within acceptable tolerance levels. Also, I’m a foodie so it’s great to be in Singapore,” said Do.
