Genext Students, a hybrid tutoring platform in India that connects parents with the best home tutors for their children, has raised US$580,000 in its pre-Series A funding round from undisclosed investors.
Genext Students will use the funding to fortify its team, strengthen tech backbone and expand services to new cities such as Bengaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Launched in February 2013 by Ali Asgar Kagzi and Asad Daud, Genext Students is a hybrid tutoring platform. With more than 4,000 tutorpreneurs and 75 per cent moth-on-month repeat customers, Genext Students have completed 20,000-plus tutoring sessions in the last lease year across Pune and Mumbai.
The platform aims to bring quality home tutors along with proprietary content (online & offline) to the doorstep of parents/students, using technology as a key driver. It enables personalised learning for students and provides real-time progress updates to parents. The firm has over one million users of its digital study content.
Genext Students offers a combination of private home tutoring and technology-enabled learning across the curricula of national, international and state level syllabi. It aims to bridge the existing discovery, connection and delivery gap in the K-12 education system. Apart from delivering content in English, Genext Students is the first edtech company to have launched content for Hindi medium students in India.
