Grab has recently announced plan to integrate its GrabFood service to its core app

Southeast Asian ride-hailing giant Grab today announced the introduction of four new services to its core app in Singapore.

The services are:

Hotels for hotel bookings
The feature will enable users to book hotels and other accommodation from Agoda directly on Grab’s app, as the company’s partner for this service. Users will also be able to book from Booking.com “soon”, Grab added.

Set to be available for all users in May, users can also use GrabPay to pay for transactions and earn GrabRewards points “later this year.”

Videos for on-demand video streaming
Starting May, Grab will enable users to access online video content through its app, as the result of its partnership with HOOQ. Users can pay for the service with GrabPay and will enjoy two months of free content when subscribing to HOOQ via the Grab app.

Tickets for ticket purchases, starting with movie tickets
The feature will be rolled out in June in partnership with BookMyShow. It will start by offering movie tickets search, book, and comparison tool. To use the feature, users do not need to create new account and will be able to use GrabPay to pay for transactions.

Trip Planner for integrated public transport service
The feature will enable users to plan their transit journey with real-time public transportation information and end-to-end directions in the Grab app. It will be available for all Grab users in Singapore starting today.

The introduction of the new features followed the launch of GrabPlatform in July 2018, which enable partner companies to integrate their services into the Grab app.

The company had also announced plan to integrate its GrabFood service to its core app, as part of its bid to become a “super app.”
