According to the company, it has 3C’s as its DNA — comfort (ready-to-use premium accommodations), convenience (professional services), and community (social experience) for servicing its residents.

CoHo also organises various events, sessions and meet-ups for the residents. Events include stand-up comedy, pampering session, freshers’ party, musical night, co-working collaboration.

Following are few pointers on how CoHo is leveraging tech and data to disrupt and innovate in the large traditional paying guest, hostel, youth housing market of India:

Property acquisition: Rich external data-sets of neighbourhoods (offices, restaurants, colleges, malls, etc) and internal historical lead data to intelligently acquire assets.

Property activation: CoHo scans properties with an IR scanner to create realistic 3D models, which are used by its designer to design the interiors more efficiently.

IoT-driven operations: IoT sensors to monitor water levels, electricity usage, appliance health monitoring etc. and internal operations team only focuses on efficient delivery of services based on the sensor data

Access management: Face-recognition locks being implemented in properties with white-list of faces that are granted access. Doors are unlocked only for those faces. Any unrecognised/covered face is reported to a centralised team in real time.

Behaviour analytics: People spend 12 hours of their daily time at CoHo by engaging in various activities like eating, gymming, watching TV, playing games, attending events and sleeping. CoHo tracks their behaviours in the common areas to provide them a richer living experience

Virtual walk-through: People can go through a realistic walk-through of each CoHo space on the website before booking them. This saves them from the hassle of physically visiting the property.

Founded in 2015 by Uday Lakkar, CoHo is currently in Delhi National Capital Region and Bengaluru with 3,000-plus residents and looking to expand up to 15,000-plus beds in the next 12-15 months across other major cities like Pune, Mumbai and Hyderabad, having high inward migration.
