Social listening and analytics platform Talkwalker has officially opened its new office in Singapore following the expansion from Europe to the United States. Singapore will be the base for the company’s Asia Pacific expansion and growth.

“With a growing base of brands and agencies across the region, we’re very excited to be on the ground,” shared Ben Soubies, Talkwalker Head of APAC.

In the launch event, guest clients like Hong Kong Airlines GM for Branding and Social Media Dennis Owen was invited to speak about leveraging consumer insights on social. Another esteemed guest was Lion & Lion Chief Digital Officer Emily Lim, who shared about PR crisis and launching a new brand in a highly competitive market.

In its official statement, Talkwalker shared about Digital 2019 report that showcased Asia Pacific’s internet penetration at 52 per cent and half of the region’s population using social media actively having a conversation. This makes brands need to listen to what customers are saying about them online.

“As a brand, you can’t always stop bad things from happening but you can turn things around if you respond the right way, which can only be done effectively with social listening tools,” explained Dennis Owen, Hong Kong Airlines GM for Branding and Social Media.
