Bangalore-based foodtech startup HungerBox has closed US$12 million in funding from a host of Indian and international investors such as Paytm and NPTK, who joined existing backers Sabre Partners and Neoplux. The funding is the extension of the US$4.5 million round from Sabre, Neoplux, Lionrock Capital (Singapore), and Infosys Co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan in 2018.
The startup said it will use the new investment to grow HungerBox’s operations in 10 new Indian cities as well as fuel the company’s international expansion to Southeast Asia.
Founded in 2016, HungerBox offers end-to-end F&B tech-based operations management.
Sandipan Mitra, CEO and Co-Founder, HungerBox, said, “We are currently following a three-pronged approach: Deepening engagement into the corporate sector which we already served in 18 cities across India, expanding into sectors which reveal massive scope for improving F&B management, such as education, healthcare (hospitals), and retail (malls), and expanding geographically beyond India.”
