pressrelease

Indonesian women lifestyle portal Female Daily Network (FDN) today announced that it has acquired mobile developer company J-Technologies (JTECH) for an undisclosed sum.

JTECH is a mobile development startup which started its journey in New York City; it later relocated to Jakarta in order to reduce development costs. With the acquisition, JTECH CEO Han Kao is set to join FDN as Chief Product Officer, leading the product development, engineering and data science team.

The JTECH team, which consists of nine employees, have now fully merged to FDN team.

“I am delighted to join Hanifa and her passionate team and extremely excited to build innovative products that will enrich the lives of such a strong and captivated audience as Female Daily’s,” Han said in a press statement.

A serial entrepreneur and software engineer with over 20 years of experience in the field, Han was introduced to FDN CEO Hanifa Ambadar by Adrian Li, Managing Partner of Convergence Ventures, which invested in FDN’s Series A round in 2014.

With the acquisition, FDN is set to launch its beauty product review app in mid-October, apart from improving the previous platform built before the acquisition.

“FDN already has strong beauty content and community base, so hopefully, we can close the loop with commerce. After all, this is what our community has been asking for,” according to Ambadar in an e-mail to e27.
