It aims to roll out over 100,000 environmental related devices and 500,000 asset tracking tags
China- and US-based IoT startup SENSORO has raised US$18 million in a Series B round. Investors include Bosch, Sumitomo and Tsing Capital. Its previous backers include Nokia Growth Partners, Mandra Capital and Microsoft Accelerator.
Launched in 2013, SENSORO manufactures two main line of industrial IoT products.
First is its beacon devices that collect and send information based on proximity and wireless sensor networks that aggregate digital data from the physical world for IoT applications.
The second is the Alpha Product Suite. It provides low cost and low-power capabilities for IoT networks. SENSORO claims that the Alpha platform can cover a range of 193 kilometres. This is critical for large scale applications such as environmental monitoring and asset tracking.
SENSORO’s clients hail from across 51 countries and regions, including brands such as K11, China Railway High-speed, Real Madrid, Chow Tai Fook, Costa Coffee, and Pizza Hut.

It aims to roll out over 100,000 environmental related devices and 500,000 asset tracking tags in 2017 to support infrastructure in cities, buildings, and industries including manufacturing, oil and gas, warehousing, logistics, fleet management, and retail.
“Our mission at SENSORO is to leverage technology to create a better, safer, and smarter way of life,” said Vivian Li, SENSORO Co-Founder, CSO. “We are building technologies that will play a critical role in the IoT ecosystem and that will facilitate widespread implementation of intelligent resource management and life safety solutions.”
