The startups were either founded by a woman or were targeting a female-focussed consumer base

IoTsploit, a company that builds cypersecurity tools for industrial IoT, won last night’s She Loves Tech pitching competition in Singapore and will now be pitching in the global competition in Beijing.

The event because it was only open to female founders or any business that positively impacts women.

The runner-up was a company named SG Cosmos, which has built an environmental simulator for micro-satellites (which can be held in the hand).

Turnkey Lender, a SaaS tool for end-to-end lending automation came in third. Tadah Holdings (and its personalised skincare product Daily Drop) received a special mention.

The event was co-organised by Female Founders, Lean Inn China and TechRock,

“Technology creates opportunities for women, whether as entrepreneurs, executives or consumers. Thus, we want to encourage women to leverage technology to solve global problems which the world faces and to create wealth, prosperity and social impact,” said Virginia Tan, the Co-founder and President of Lean Inn China.

But, as always, pitching competitions are subjective, and being named a finalists is the real goal. So, let’s take a look at the twelve teams that pitched!

BEAM Storage

 

Founded by Anna Chew, BEAM Storage is a mobile app that acts as a concierge for logistics and warehouse storage. Basically, a user downloads the app and upon request a team will come to the shop, store, catalog and transport the goods to a secure location.

The New Savvy

The New Savvy is an online platform that offers financial and career advice tailored towards women. It is a new media company that provides investment advice, career help and even health tips. The company also runs conference to create a 360-degree platform.

The company was Co-founded by Anna Vanessa Haotanto.

SG-Cosmos

 

Space tech is an exciting field that requires deep knowledge. Founder Bidushi Bhattacharya is hoping to build a STEM-based workforce in Singapore targetting mostly women. One step for accomplishing this goal is the team is operating an environmental simulator for launching micro-satellites into space.

SG-Cosmos provides a place to train the world’s future engineers and space entrepreneurs.

Regit

 

Regit is a B2B Saas startup that wants to help businesses comply with standards set by Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act. Regit automates the data a company collects so it can avoid grabbing old or incomplete data.

It was founded by John Do.

Vanitee

 

Vanitee lets people book beauty appointments online. It offers services from SMEs that include brow & lash services, professional makeup artists, and facials – among others.

It also helps business owners – particularly women in this field – to grow their company via the Vanitee mobile app.

It was Founded by Douglas Gan.

Turnkey Lender

 

Founded by Elena Ionenko, Turnkey lender is a SaaS service that wants to bring end-to-end automation to the lending industry. It wants to create affordable credit risk management and automation technology for non-bank lenders.

It is a single stash solution that allows credit decisions and servicing to enter autopilot.

Klaud9

 

Kaud9 is a stock-photo company based in Asia, focussed on Asians. It has what people would expect from a stock image company, but all of the scenes feature people of Asian ethnicities.

It is targeting companies for their marketing, social media and content marketing campaigns.

IoTsploit

 

Our champion is building cybersecurity solutions for industrial IoT. It has built a vulnerability scanner and a firmware analyser to protect the IoT of industrial companies. It also provides consulting.

The company was founded by Karachach Sadybakasova.

“We are thrilled about winning the Singapore competition and look forward to the international finals in Beijing. It is a great opportunity for us to showcase our fast growing business and raise international profile,” she said.

Tada Holdings Pte. Ltd.

 

Tada was pitching its product called Daily Drop. The service uses technology to bring personalised skincare services to women. It is building a platform to bring this service to women at an affordable price. It wants to take the fuss out of makeup shopping and sell women high-performing product.

Tada Holdings was Founded by Nicole Hu.

Chiwiborirak

 

Founded by Piraya Tamrongterakul, Chiwiborirak is a mobile app that wants to connect women with professional health services. Women can either access an online clinic for women or health consultation.

UI-licious

 

The worst part of starting a company is spending months building an app, just to realise the UI does not work for a consumer base. UI-licious provides a simple UI testing platform so people can “test from you user’s perspective”.

It has a robust test engine that can be continuously integrated and run automatically.

The company was Founded by Shi Ling Tai.

Gnowbe

 

Gnowbe is a micro-lending tool that lets companies train employees and channel partners anytime via a mobile app. It is a knowledge sharing platform that embraces content creation and consumptions strategy to drive productivity.
