Indonesia-based Waresix has handled more than 100,000 metric tonnes in monthly transaction value
Following a US$1.6 million pre-Series A funding round led by East Ventures and Monk’s Hill Ventures, Indonesia-based end-to-end logistics service provider Waresix claims that it has handled more than 100,000 metric tonnes in monthly transaction value with 25 per cent monthly growth.
The startup names Indonesia’s vast territory as the main challenge faced by the logistics industry.
“We manage to tackle this challenge because we have invested in the right people for the job. We also innovate on our technology and focus on the needs of our customers. Since the beginning, Waresix has built a strong team with a comprehensive understanding of supply chain in Indonesia,” said Waresix Co-Founder and CEO Andree Susanto.
The startup develops a special platform to connect warehouse operators with land or sea transportation providers that are ready to have their storage facility used. Waresix has served cargo, retail supply, cold storage, transportation, and international warehousing needs for international clients in big cities and remote areas in Indonesia.
Waresix is operating in 10 cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Pekanbaru, Bali, Makassar, Balikpapan, Bandung, Palembang, and Dumai.

Flexibility for customers
Waresix has secured more than 2,000 suppliers that include warehouse operators, land transportation providers, as well as mid- to large-sized businesses. The companies are using the Waresix platform to search for logistics services that suit their needs. With the platform, users can opt for a logistic service with sufficient local knowledge, enabling customers to have their logistical needs guaranteed.
Customers also have the flexibility in changing the specification of their delivery. They may use Waresix’s warehouses to consolidate or deconsolidate, which ends up in a more efficient distribution system. Customers can also use the truck fleet provided by the startup. They are able to choose the option that suits their needs best and make a booking in less than 24 hours.
In the future, Waresix plans to maintain business growth and client empowerment as part of its goal to perform a more transparent, efficient, and convenient supply chain management, in order to make greater revenue.
“By focussing our attention to our customers as an accountable partner with commitment to grow their businesses, Waresix has grown by 15 times compared to the previous year. With this growth level, we have projected to gain some revenue in the near time. We plan to invest it on team building, infrastructure, and a stronger service,” Susanto says.
