The partnership aims to transform the state of Perak into the next entrepreneurship hub in Malaysia

MaGICMOU

Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) and Perak State Government through its agency, KPerak Implementation and Coordination Corporation (KPerak), today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop a strategic roadmap to promote innovative entrepreneurship development in the State of Perak.

The MOU also marked the first to be signed between MaGIC and an agency under the state government.

Perak Chief Minister Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir witnessed the signing ceremony between MaGIC CEO Ashran Ghazi and KPerak’s CEO Mohd Nazaruddin Mohd Yusoff.

To further extend the roll-out of Malaysia’s National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) the MOU captures three key points of agreement:

1. Cultivate grassroots adoption of NBOS by giving greater support to the state’s entrepreneurs.

2. Tailor strategic entrepreneurship training and labs for Perak State to promote inclusion for the State’s entrepreneurs and startups in future MaGIC initiatives.

3. Explore how to best help the State become the entrepreneurship hub for Malaysia’s northern region.

“I am excited to announce this partnership with KPerak. It is great to have the opportunity to collaborate with the future entrepreneurs of Perak – sharing knowledge and experiences,” said Ashran in a press statement.

“MaGIC is working to transform the entrepreneurship landscape across the whole of Malaysia and I hope our cooperation with Perak will be a sign for things to come – more Malaysian state governments championing the growth of entrepreneurship in their local communities,” he added.

Founded in 2014, MaGIC runs the MaGIC Academy, organising technical courses, workshops, and talks by industry experts around three key themes: discover, build and grow.

Incorporated in 2006, KPerak was given the mandate to transform the Perak State into a full-fledged knowledge state by 2020.

Its mission is to provide facilities and infrastructures to transform Perak as a preferred choice for an investment destination in the ICT industry through its advisory role to Perak State Government on policies, operation and strategy.
