REV Asia and its group of companies (“REV Asia Group” or “Group”), one of Malaysia’s leading digital media groups, has recently announced its 70 per cent-owned subsidiary, namely Rev Digital Sdn Bhd has entered into a Business Assets Sale and Purchase Agreement (“SPA”) with Netnion Technology Sdn Bhd for the proposed acquisition of popular Chinese social news and content websites, Viralcham and Rojaklah.

Both the websites are one of Malaysia’s news and information resources for trending and social news in the lifestyle industry and entertainment related content, focussing particularly on social news in Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and Hollywood.

The proposed acquisitions will allow REV to capture the burgeoning global online Chinese audience segment.

Viralcham and Rojaklah’s team will continue to manage the websites and content, further strengthened through REV Asia Group’s current operational structure.

“Both websites have an SME content offering within the Klang Valley; and with the injection of REV Asia Group’s operational structure, these offerings will be expanded to key market centres in Malaysia. We will also be developing a full suite of sponsored content offerings to MNC brands which the sales team of Netnion Technology Sdn Bhd previously did not have access to,” said Voon Tze Khay, General Manager of REV Asia, in a press statement.

“With REV Asia Group ’s existing extensive social media distribution platform in 8Share, the introduction of sponsored content will put us in the driving seat to capture and enlarge a significant piece of Malaysia’s rapidly growing content marketing spend,” he added.
