The revamped platform is now known as Recommend.my, and will feature over 50,000 completed projects from Malaysian companies

Malaysian on-demand services startup RecomN.com has rebranded to Recommend.my.

The revamped platform now comes with new features such as a catalogue, which is stocked with over 50,000 photos of completed projects from Malaysian service providers. These photos cover interior design and renovations, kitchen designs, wardrobe designs and more.

Customers can also now contact the service providers directly and chat with them online before hiring.

“The original website allowed customers to get competitive quotes from trusted service professionals. However, we’ve realised that there are customers who are still browsing and researching and are not ready to hire yet,” said Jes Min Lua, co-founder and head of Malaysia, in an official press statement.

“This new feature will allow them to get inspired by ideas and educated about materials and pricing, before hiring the professional who can deliver the job,” she said.

Lua, a technology and growth strategy consultant, launched the platform in 2014 along with co-founder Anthony Eka Wijaya, an operations and growth hacking specialist, and Alex Tan, a technology marketing and content specialist.

Customers can get quotations for over 200 categories of services including renovations and interior design, or order express home maintenance services like air-con servicing and sofa-cleaning.

Other categories include event and party services, wedding services, classes and training, and freelance business support services. Currently, there are over 20,000 service providers on board the platform.

Last year in March, Recommend.my claimed to process a monthly volume of nearly 15,000 service requests, with over 500,000 visitors per month.

Besides Malaysia, the startup operates in Indonesia as Sejasa.com and Thailand as Helpdee.com. Last year, Recommend.my closed US$1 million in seed round of financing led by Gobi Partners.

“With Recommend.my, we’re building on our core mission of helping customers reach good service professionals fast, to work hand-in-hand with them to create happy places and happy moments,”said Tan.
