The Simona Accelerator programme is a result of Simona Ventures’ partnership with Digitaraya

Simona Ventures, an Indonesia-based venture capital firm that focusses on female-founded and -led businesses, announced the 11 startups that have made it to the first batch of their APAC Women Founders Accelerator.

At the five-day event that is being hosted from March 25-29, participants are set to take part in a three-day bootcamp event followed by market introduction, demo day, and potential partner networking session.

The programme is a result of Simona Ventures’ partnership with Digitaraya, a Google Developers Launchpad-backed accelerator programme. It is also held in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Informatics and Google for Startup.

The following is the list of the participating startups:

AVANA (Malaysia)

 

A platform that aims to empower micro enterpreneurs through social media transaction. Its platform enables businesses to use their existing social media platforms as a medium for transaction, in addition to promotion. Founded in 2016, the startup said it has empowered 10,000 businesses in its operations in Malaysia and Indonesia, and aims to reach out to more businesses in Southeast Asia.

FUSE (China)

 

A platform that supports new brand launch through partnership with retailers and pop-up stores. Through its O2O solutions, businesses would be able to identify offline user behaviours in order to increase sales conversion in stores.

Gadjian (Indonesia)

 

A cloud-based human resource and salary management platform that automates the work of a human resource division in a company, especially for salary and taxation matters. It claimed to be the only end-to-end integrated salary platform in Indonesia.

Glazziq (Thailand)

 

Glaaziq claimed to be the first e-commerce platform in Asia to sell eyeglasses online, with prices that can go up to three times lower than similar products in traditional optics.

Kono (South Korea)

 

An artificial intelligence (AI) assistant to help businesses set up schedules more effectively by using email, messenger, and SMS chatbots.

PolicyPal (Singapore)

 

An insurtech company that aims to help users find and manage insurance policies easily. It provides end-to-end solutions for insurance distribution, management, and claims, using blockchain and AI technology. PolicyPal is the first startup to have graduated from Singapore’s MAS Fintech Sandbox and have also secured an insurance broker licence.

Roshni Rides (Pakistan)

 

A women-friendly carpooling platform that aims to provide solutions for the lack of infrastructure and sufficient public transportation in big cities.

Seekmi (Indonesia)

 

A mobile and web platform that connects local, blue collar service providers to customers. It aims to formalise and improve the quality of subcontract industries for blue collar workers.

Snooper (Australia)

 

A crowdsourcing app that gives incentives for customers to gather data from the stores that they have visited to be analysed by brands. The Snooper community consists of 50,000 buyers in Australia and New Zealand. The data that was gathered through online dashboard enable brands to understand user behaviour better and create more effective campaigns.

Stylegenie (The Philippines)

 

A personal fashion stylist that customers adjusted their personal taste with data provided by retail brands. In addition help customers save time, money, and energy, the platform also aims to provide solutions for fashion industry waste management.

ViralWorks (Vietnam)

A platform that connects brands to influencers, helping brands to market their products in a smarter way.
