NIA solidifies its support of the local and regional ecosystem by bringing together the tech, entrepreneurship and investment communities for Echelon Thailand 2017.
With Thailand’s National Innovation Agency (NIA) adding its name to the pool of government bodies in the region pushing for innovation and technology adoption towards corporates and SMEs, expect greater cross border collaboration.
NIA and e27 is proud to announce a collaboration on Echelon Thailand – e27’s flagship conference series that has been running since 2012. NIA will enter as the title sponsor of the conference for 2017.
Both parties believe that having hailed from amongst the most fast paced, maturing startup ecosystems in Southeast Asia – namely Thailand and Singapore, learning from each other through co-creation, networking, fostering, and partnering different organisations, is ever important.
NIA is an autonomous agency established by the Ministry of Science and Technology that works to promote economic vibrancy by partnering with business in various industries to promote economic competitiveness. It wants to use innovation as the principal tool to enhance the quality of life and driving Thailand towards an increasingly competitive economy, and towards an “ASEAN Start-up Hub”.
“Through NIA’s partnership with e27, we would like to showcase Startup Thailand as a governmental open platform for all startups considering Thailand as a cradle for innovation and business growth across Asia. It is dynamic and change is a norm,” shares Dr. Pun-Arj Chairatana, Director of NIA.
“Thailand’s growing involvement in Asia’s ecosystem through partnering with regional players – including the likes of SPARK – Israel-led global acceleration programme, and e27 – Southeast Asia’s tech and startup resource platform, in order to showcase and open market access to the Thailand ecosystem, is truly heartening,” Thaddeus Koh, Co-Founder, e27 shares, “and we are honoured to have received NIA’s support on furthering e27’s role in this endeavour.”
e27 believes this partnership with NIA will be the start of a great year ahead, and an even better way to kickstart Thailand’s line up of activities throughout and beyond Bangkok to showcase the best of what the ecosystem has to offer – not only at the conference – but online on e27.co’s digital platform, throughout the year.
In line with NIA’s support of Echelon Thailand, the team would like to invite associations and founders looking to expand into Thailand to attend the Echelon Thailand conference this May 15-16 at C asean.
