Currently focussing on Bangkok, Risawedding is also looking to expand to Chiang Mai, Pattaya, and Phuket

Malaysia-based wedding and baby e-commerce platform Nuren Group today announced the launch of wedding platform Risawedding, marking the company’s first entry into the Thailand market.

Risawedding is a one-stop wedding platform that allows brides-to-be to find inspiration and purchase all sort of products and services related to planning for a wedding, from venues, bridal fashion, photography & videography, invitation cards & gifts, to after-party entertainment and decoration.

Along with a concierge service, the platform currently offers 200 themed wedding packages from more than 50 wedding vendors in Bangkok, as well as packages for overseas weddings in Singapore and Malaysia.

It aims to close 300 weddings and generate at least 15 to 20 sales for each of its vendors, with each sale ranging between THB25,000 (US$712) and THB500,000 (US$14,238).

“The year 2017 has proven to be the start of an exciting time for Nuren, with the launch of our comprehensive wedding platform here in Thailand,” said Nuren Group Co-Founder and COO Stacey Lee in a press statement.

“We hope this platform will help us to strengthen our ties and relationships with vendors and customers,” she added.

Risawedding currently focusses on wedding services in Bangkok, though the company also sets eyes to expand to Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket, ultimately promoting Phuket and Chiang Mai as wedding destinations.

In an interview with Digital News Asia, Nuren Group Co-Founder and CEO Petrina Goh stated that getting vendors on-board and introducing the platform into the new market was not difficult as the model has already been proven successful in Malaysia and Singapore.

The group also benefitted from partnership with Thai celebrity bridal house and planner Siriwaraporn, enabling it to enter her network of reputable vendors and partners.

“We believe the key success is being able to work with quality and reliable vendors, and helping them to reach out to couples in a more effective way. This is reciprocal to helping couples engage the right vendors hassle free and in a transparent manner,” said Goh.

It has raised a US$2 million Series A round led by Gobi Partners in March and US$45,000 in a crowdfunding round on equity crowdfunding platform Crowdo in June.

The company is looking forward to close another round to strengthen its operation in Thailand.
