The acquisition will help Edukayson quickly scale its network of educational institutions

Edukasyon, a startup that helps people with their career/education journey, announced today it has acquired FindUniversty, an online directory.

The acquisition, which was completed in 2018, is meant to help Edukasyon scale rapidly.

FindUniversity, which was started in 2010, had built a directory of 20,000 educational programmes from 900 institutions. This number will be added to Edukasyon’s network of 20,000 courses from 13,000 schools and an additional 500 partner institutions.

Interestingly, Edukasyon is not going to assimilate the FindUniversity platform into their platform. Instead, the company is keeping the brand separate and has revamped the website. People will still be able to use FindUniversity.ph but will now be able to access the services provided by Edukasyon.

“We are very impressed with FindUniversity’s online visibility and robust database of schools, programs and rankings. We are excited to bring added value to its student users by integrating Edukasyon’s tools, resources and content, and to our partner institutions by offering an additional gateway to prospective applicants,” said Edukasyon Founder and CEO Henry Motte-Muñoz in a statement.

The mission of Edukayson is to help the youth in the Philippines make better informed decisions regarding their education and career goals. The platform has tools, resources and content that it offers for free to students. It partners with Universities around the Philippines to make revenue.

In May 2018, Edukayson raised an undisclosed pre-Series A and in January of this year it was part of an investment push from Gobi Partners’ Philippines-focussed fund.
