Echelon TOP100 2018’s South Korea qualifiers sports five judges that will determine the country’s next greatest startup.
Echelon TOP100 Qualifiers have been electrifying the greater Asia region with hundreds of startups showcasing their cutting-edge innovations and developments. The South Korea leg of our journey will see 10 ambitious startups taking the stage to prove to the world of its prowess as the startup ecosystem of choice in the region – at MARU180, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Tuesday, 24 April.
The best pitches will be awarded the Judges’ Choice and Fan Favourite — and get accelerated to the Finals at Echelon Asia Summit in Singapore this June amongst the shortlisted 100 – ultimately vying for prizes from WeWork, STSP, Web in Travel and SPRING Singapore!

But first – these are the judges they have to impress:
- Jung-hee Ryu, CEO, FuturePlay
FuturePlay is a venture capital firm that builds and invest in tech-centric startups that will form a strong portfolio and network of companies to support the ecosystem. They are focused on incubating tech startups as an early-stage investor and look towards scaling these companies towards success.
- Charles Rim, Founding Partner, Access Ventures
Access Ventures is a venture capital firm focusing on early-stage tech companies across the region including Vietnam, Indonesia, and South Korea. They mainly provide strategic expertise and access to their network of executives, technology professionals and strategic investors to create and execute sound exit strategies.
- Eugene Kim, Partner, Sparklabs
Sparklabs adopts a different approach to seed-stage funding by going global. They believe that together with their team of highly experienced individuals, they are able to help develop and grow their network and scale these companies throughout the world. Startups with a holistic profile that includes leveraging data, adopt a disruptive business model, have high engagement, and a competent team would be their key targets for investment.
- Simon Shin, Senior Principal, Bluepoint
Bluepoint is unabashed about their strong relationships with their partners when it comes to private equity. They partner with entrepreneurs and managers to invest in and growing middle-market companies. Bluepoint manages over $1.5 billion in committed capital across its second, third, and fourth institutional funds.

The TOP100 2018 Official Startup Application Round for joining the Qualifier Roadshow has ended, but we are still accepting applications for Discretionary Admission.
