RedDoorz currently operates over 125 hotels and plans to partner with over 200 hotels in Vietnam by the end of the year

RedDoorz, Southeast Asia’s leading hotel management and booking platform, has announced the launch of a new regional technology hub in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The hub will complement RedDoorz’s primary technology team based out of India to facilitate agile technology developments and innovations for its proprietary software solutions.

Asheesh Kunwar Saxena, Co-founder and CTO of RedDoorz, said: “Vietnam’s push towards Industry 4.0 has given rise to an abundance of talent in the technology space. Setting up a technology hub in Vietnam provides us with access to this talent-pool, enabling us to focus more on driving innovations and further enhancing our tech solutions.”

As part of this investment, RedDoorz will employ a team of more than 50 tech professionals, including software engineers, product managers and UI/ UX specialists within the first year of operations.

Also, RedDoorz has signed a Memorandum-of-Understanding (MoU) with the government-affiliated Vietnam Travel Club. This aims to promote both inbound and outbound tourism by enabling local consumers to travel and explore more destinations, both domestically and internationally.

It will also expose existing and future partner hotels to a broader pool of customers and industry best practices to support their business growth. The deal will also provide travel agencies and travellers with travel accommodation across the region.

RedDoorz claims that since its launch a year ago, it has created over 800 jobs across business and hotel operations in Vietnam. The firm currently operates over 125 hotels across five cities and plans to continue its expansion trajectory to amass over 200 hotels in its network across six major cities by the end of the year.

Amit Saberwal, Founder and CEO of RedDoorz, said, “Vietnam has shown strong growth in terms of its tourism industry: in 2017, international arrivals to Vietnam increased by 2.7 million while domestic tourists increased by 6.8 million. In response to these growing trends, we have rapidly scaled operations in Vietnam since launching last year, and now operate the largest hotel network in the country. “

“We will continue to invest in enhancing our operations and expanding our network of hotels across the country to help drive mutual growth with local, regional and international partners for the benefit of domestic and international tourists,” he added.

Across Southeast Asia, RedDoorz has successfully expanded its business to over 1,400 properties in more than 100 cities in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

In August, RedDoorz raised US$70 million in fresh funding, just days after securing a US$45 million in Series B round.
