Beijing-based mobile Internet company Cheetah Mobile released a new report that revealed mobile usage behaviour in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore during the last holy month of Ramadan.

As widely known, Ramadan is one of the best seasons for online shopping. But the report also shown several interesting facts, such as the declining usage of sports app despite Euro 2016. Even e-commerce itself was affected by push-and-pull factors, which are the promotions given by e-commerce platforms themselves and the customers’ need for Idul Fitri preparation.

The research was conducted between May 30 to June 12, with data collected from routine functions such as junk cleaning in Cheetah Mobile’s products. The data were based on 2.7 billion installations and 635 million active monthly users as of March 2016, derived only from Android-based platforms.
