The round was led by Kewee Kho, Vice Chairman of Roadbull Logistics and independent Director of Courts Asia

Luxiee, a Singapore-based online diamond marketplace, has raised a six-figure investment in seed funding, led by Kewee Kho, Vice Chairman of Roadbull Logistics and independent Director of Courts Asia.

The funds will be channeled towards marketing, branding, public relations and media placement, as well as to build the business’s talent pool.

Started by Nicholas Lim (CEO) and James Chua (CMO), Luxiee connects consumers directly to suppliers, offering GIA (Gemological Institute of America)-certified diamonds. The online marketplace aims to disrupt the traditional model of selling diamonds, where each diamond goes through several layers of middle-men before reaching the consumer.

Through Luxiee, consumers can choose from an array of GIA-certified loose diamonds, after which they can either select a preferred ring setting or purchase the piece on its own to be set separately later. The information about the supplier of the diamond is specified and tracking of the order is available.

“It’s about time a traditional industry like diamonds experience a new way of delivering real value to customers. It is a disruption to an old school economy,” said Kho. ”The impressive background of Luxiee’s solid management team, with experts coming together from the creative, digital marketing, and precious gems industries, reinforces my belief in this new and current business model.”
