Launched in January, the first installement claimed to have attracted 120 submissions from 22 countries
Singtel Group venture capital arm Singtel Innov8 today announced that the Innov8 Connect programme has returned with its second installment following its first installment in January, which claimed to have attracted over 120 submissions from startups across 22 countries.
“We have been very encouraged with the results of the first installment of Innov8 Connect, which has clearly demonstrated the value that start-ups can bring to Singtel. We hope to repeat the success again in this second installment,” said Singtel Innov8 CEO Edgar Hardless in a press statement.
Together with its Australian arm Optus, Singtel has identified 14 new business challenges in areas such as the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality (AR) solutions and artificial intelligence (AI).

The programme itself is open for startups across the globe. Startups that have been selected to the programme will be provided with up to S$75,000 (US$55,000) to test and validate their solution with Singtel and Optus.
Successful solution will have the opportunity to have their solutions commercialised by Singtel Group, gaining access to over 600 million subscribers across Asia, Australia and Africa. It will also have the opportunity to seek funding from Singtel Innov8, and tap on its global network of co-investors and partners.
Interested startups can submit their proposals today, with the deadline being October 31, 2016. The detailed brief can also be found on the website.
