PayMongo aims to offer easier ways for merchants to receive payments online
The votes are in –and the e27 Community on Telegram and Twitter have voted for PayMongo as Startup of the Month!
Based in the Philippines, PayMongo aims to offer easier ways for merchants to receive payments online. The startup also offers an API platform that allows businesses to add payments to their websites, services, or apps.
PayMongo recently took our attention with a mind-blowing US$2.7 million seed funding round from top Silicon Valley investors, including Founders Fund, Peter Thiel, and Stripe.
The funding round also included Y Combinator, Global Founders Capital, Soma Capital, Tinder Co-founder Justin Mateen, and a number of other angel investors.
This also will not be the last time we heard of them as PayMongo aims to grow its base in the Philippines. Over the next few years, the company plans to offer more products and services to its merchants and eyes expansion towards the rest of Southeast Asia.
Catching up on PayMongo is Indonesian P2P lending startup Julo, which had recently raised a US$10 million extension round to a Series A financing, and myTukar, a Malaysian car-bidding platform, which had recently raised US$30 million from Carro.
Congratulations and best of luck to the startups!
