Krungsri RISE accelerator is part of the Thai bank’s innovation push to bolster its products and services by partnering with startups
Thailand’s grand plan to transform its economy into an innovation-driven one continues to gain momentum, as government agencies, corporation, and VCs fund and engage startups to help them grow into effective companies and build better products.
One such corporation Krungsri Finnovate, a corporate venture capital (CVC) arm of Krungsri, Thailand’s fifth largest bank, is accomplishing this through its accelerator programme, which it launched together with RISE, a corporate innovation accelerator. Called Krungsri RISE, it has now opened up applications for its third batch.
The 12-week programme is accepting 10 startups for its third batch. Successful applicants will receive mentorship from industry veterans, including the Korn Chatikavanij, the former minister of finance, Thakorn Piyapan, Head of Krungsri Consumer Group and Head of Digital Banking and Innovation, and many more.
Startups will stand to benefit from Krungsri Finnovate — which has earmarked US$30 million over the course of 3 years to fund startups. In addition, the bank will leverage its relationships with RISE and it’s international and regional partners, including leading tech platforms such as Grab, AWS, VISA, Tencent Cloud, and more, to strengthen the startups’ core capabilities.
