Thailand-based online printing platform Gogoprint has announced that it has acquired Indonesian printing startup Prinzio for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition will enable to Gogoprint to boost its domestic presence and accelerate customer acquisition efforts in Indonesia — an important step in bolstering its market share in Southeast Asia’s largest printing market.

GogoPrint said that it picked Prinzio because it had a strong B2B Indonesian customer base and an “impressive track record” in retaining customer loyalty since it was launched three years ago.

Prinzio is backed by East Ventures and has worked with major tech companies such as Google, Matahari Mall, IDN Times, OVO, aCommerce, Tokopedia, Berrybenka and Bhinneka.com.

Riky Tenggara, Founder and CEO of Prinzio will come on board Gogoprint as a Co-founder. All of Prinzio’s staff will remain fully employed while Prinzio customers will be gradually onboarded onto the Gogoprint network.

Gogoprint plans to heavily invest in Prinzio’s sales and marketing efforts and expand its team.

“Indonesia is Southeast Asia’s largest printing market and given its strong internet penetration and stable economic growth; we can expect steady growth leading into 2019,” said David Berghaeuser, Co-founder at Gogoprint.

“Prinzio has established a very sound business strategy to serve its print customers in a highly localised manner with strong retention metrics and impressive order size,” he added.

To date, Gogoprint has worked with over 45,000 customers — the bulk of them being small and medium enterprises (SMEs) — across five regional offices in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, printing 250 million products (such as flyers, business cards, event banners, and more).

A few months ago, GogoPrint raised a Series A funding worth US$7.7 million. The funding was led by Online Printing Group (OPG).

One of GogoPrint’s key selling points is that it has a proprietary algorithmic software that helps to manage and pool together client orders, distribute the cost of printing via its network of over hundreds of printing partners.
