There are definitely lots of new things being launched in the Indonesian startup community this week.

SpotX officially enters Indonesia

 

US-based adtech startup SpotX announced its official entry to the Indonesian market on Thursday.

SpotX is a platform that allows publishers or media companies to monetise through video advertisement on their platform. Both media companies and advertisers will be given full control of monetisation for every ad in the platform; they will also receive the transparency and insight needed.

In its debut, SpotX already listed top media companies in Indonesia such as Kapan Lagi Network, KMK Online, Kompas, and Liputan6. The company targets five other media companies for the year 2017.

According to KMK Online in a press statement, through the partnership, they are set to become the first major Indonesian publisher to adopt a programmatic video strategy.

Baidu launches Baidu Map and Qunar for the Indonesian market

The partnership between Chinese internet giant Baidu and the Ministry of Tourism has entered its second year. To commemorate this, the company launched its Baidu Maps and Qunar apps to the Indonesian market.

The apps aimed to educate Chinese tourists about existing tourism destinations in Indonesia, as the Ministry targets two million incoming Chinese tourists for 2017 and 10 million for 2019.

“After launching in Indonesia, we will also launch Baidu Maps in other Asia Pacific countries. On the first launch in Indonesia, therer are 1,000 points of interest (POIs) which include Jakarta and Bali. The number will continue to grow, to include 10 major destinations that are in the Ministry of Tourism’s priority list,” said Baidu Indonesia Business Director Ken Tao.

ZEN Rooms introduced Pay-at-hotel system

As a market known for its heavy use of cash, Indonesia is the perfect destination for ZEN Rooms to launch its new Pay-at-hotel payment system.

The system allows users who do not possess a credit card to pay directly to the hotel upon check-in; they would only need to provide a valid phone number when booking for a room.

According to Zen Rooms Co-CEO Nathan Boubil, the new feature will eliminate a significant hurdle for Southeast Asian travellers
