The Indonesia-based fintech gears up for the company’s operation after it receives an operational license from OJK, the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia

PT Digital Alpha Indonesia, or UangTeman, Indonesia-based P2P lending platform, officially appoints Masa Paskalis Lingga as the company’s Deputy CEO. The appointment, the company noted, is a part of its strategic plan after it acquired a license from the country’s Financial Services Authority or OJK in May 2019.

“We proudly announce the appointment of Lingga as our Deputy CEO. Lingga will help us further contribute in Indonesia’s economy,” said CEO and Co-Founder of UangTeman, Aidil Zulkifli.

Lingga’s tenure as Deputy CEO officially commences on September 2, 2019. Lingga will be responsible for daily operation in the company, ensuring competitiveness and innovation amidst fintech industry’s fierce competition.

Before joining UangTeman, Lingga boasts a career as a professional banker in numerous banks, local and international ones, such as Bank Muamalat, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Bank Permata, China Trust Bank Corporation (CTBC), and Bank Bali.

“We see the appointment as a part of our commitment to further push the financial inclusion mission and provide access for underbanked society in this country. We hope that the financial inclusion agenda that we have can contribute to the growth of the national micro-entrepreneurship,” Zulkifli added.

Lingga also commented about the growth in the industry, something that challenges fintech industry to be able to come up with strategic moves to help create a healthy, responsible fintech ecosystem.

“The main challenges are how well the industry can maintain the resources, whether it’s human resources or technology resources. If we’re able to healthily and effectively manage these things, then UangTeman can earn public trust,” said Lingga.

Using its data-based algorithm, UangTeman allows users to apply for a short term, transparent microloan, especially for SMEs and individual purposes.
