Video may have killed the radio star but it’s definitely giving life to e-commerce. Let’s talk about it in Echelon Asia Summit.

Video is the way to go. At least that’s what this study is saying when it projected that video will make up 80 per cent of global internet traffic in 2019. As it stands, video content is already 74 per cent of internet traffic so an increase of 6 per cent in 2 years is not really that much of a stretch.

Over the past year, as  you browse through the different websites and even through your social media timeline, you may have noticed the increasing number of video content. Social media platforms have made it easier share videos with features that encourage video content, mostly in real time (hello, Facebook Live. And Instagram stories. And Facebook Stories. And…you get the idea).

It didn’t take too long for businesses to get in on it.

And they’re getting really smart about it.

We’re talking about quick recipe videos for food websites and user-generated tutorial videos for cosmetics. There’s also short product feature videos in online marketplaces in lieu of tight, blown-up product photos. There’s even those (somewhat annoying) product video ads you can’t skip while watching some videos in Facebook and YouTube. Video sells.

Yes, video is the way to go and we’re talking about it in Echelon Asia Summit 2017.
