Infokost, Bolalob, Opini, Womantalk, and Beritagar are the first five platforms to work together to initiate Kaskus Networks
Kaskus, which now positions itself as a social commerce platform, announced that it has secured a partnership with several local content platforms to initiate the content network “Kaskus Networks”. The goal is to synergise local content platforms and build a positive and supportive business ecosystem. In this early stage, there are five local content platform that have joined in: Infokost, Bolalob, Opini, Womantalk, and Beritagar.
Kaskus CMO Ronny W. Sugiada in a press statement said, “We are calling for all local content platforms in Indonesia to join with Kaskus Networks and to build a positive content ecosystem. This synergy will certainly give an added value for members, be it from the user traffic, revenue, or the SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) aspect.”
“We will also maximise the use of all [Kaskus] channels, from website, mobile web, mobile apps, to social media as part of the Kaskus Networks to give the best experience and results for brands that are working with us,” he added.

The content platforms that are currently in the Kaskus Networks are mostly under Global Visi Media, one of the companies under GDP Venture.
Kaskus CEO Martin B. Hartono stressed that the network is open for every content platforms who wish to join. He also expected that in the future Kaskus Networks will be one of the leading content and advertising network in Indonesia and is able to carry local content platforms to a global level.
Kaskus was founded by Andrew Darwis in 1999; it was then brought home to Indonesia in 2008, and officially registered as a company under the umbrella of PT Darta Media Indonesia. Despite having been left behind by co-founder Ken Dean Lawadinata, Kaskus has grown into the largest social commerce platform in Indonesia — starting from a mere discussion forum.

Apart from a general discussion forum and a sales transaction forum, Kaskus owns a News channel forum which content was provided online news portal such as Metrotvnews, Gatra, and Beritagar. Kaskus also claimed to have more than nine million registered members and more than 20,000 communities in it.
